Song of the Week

I apologize, as I have yet to formally introduce myself, my name is Amanda. However, I take many nicknames including Manda, Mandrake, Madykins, and other various unprofessional appellations. Nicknames aside, let me tell you about myself; I play piano and am learning how to play acoustic guitar, though I intend to convert to rhythm guitar in the future. I write poetry, I’ll read any book you set in front of me (whether I want to or not), I figure skate, I draw, but mostly… I listen to music. For me, listening to music in its self serves as a creative outlet. And though music does give me inspiration, this is not the kind of creative outlet I’m talking about. I can listen to music and feel an energy that nothing else in this world will grant me. I one day hope to pursue a career as a music supervisor, placing soundtracks to movies… which brings me to my next point… Song of the Week! Each week Mo, Hannah, and I will pick a track from a selected album and dub it as, you guessed it, “Song of the Week”. We then will explain why said song is deserving of such an honorable title. So, what better time to start this weekly ritual than now? After a long, careful, and inquisitive discussion (by long, careful, and inquisitive I, of course, mean brief and conclusive), the very honorable title of Song of the Week goes to Map of the Problematique off of Blackholes & Revelations by our favorite band, Muse. Its dance-like vibe created by experimental guitar riffs paired with eerie lyrics suggestive of conspiracy and pre-apocalyptic mayhem make for an unlikely match that somehow works. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, I believe it is the second track on our playlist. Now if you haven’t guessed this much already, the three of us really like the band Muse, but we promise to select Song of the Week vigilantly, choosing from a broad range of music from countless artists, genres, and generations. That’s all for now! - Amanda
P.S. (Insert Kate Hudson diss here)

First Dance Vid.

Yes, everything Hannah just said is true. We've been working really hard on writting some new songs..(some at 3:30 in the morning)..and hope to get them out and about by september. Very soon here my dance season starts again. For those of you who don't know, I am a dancer. I've had the pleasure of working and dancing with many companies including Aspire Dance Company, Perseverance Dance Company, Xtreme Dance Force, and MANY more. I've also had the pleasure to have been taught and choreographed by such choreographers including Missy Ridgeway, Sam Renzetti, Joe Lanteri, Tokyo, Lizzie Mackenzie, Chris Jacobsen, Kristin Lorello, the WONDERFUL Sarah Burney and Corey Dunn, and from the hit TV show "So You Think You Can Dance", Travis Wall, Mia Michaels, Sonya Tayeh, Dee Caspary, and Mandy Moore. Anyway, I will be uploading videos of dances and performances and what not! Heres a quick look at just a fun short combo done a little while back. Its in AVI format for now, but let me know if it's dificult to load or play. Well thanks again for visiting! PS kate hudson is a disgrace to the human world.

The Resistance Needs Me

We didn't forget about you, we actually have been working hard on songs to present to you (hopefully soon). Those things are Muse songs, as well as their symphonies and creations of our own. Schools starting soon so we'll actually be focused on that and recording. I don't have much to say right now except for, again, sit back and listen to "Solider's Poem" a few more times ;D.

Well the Resistance needs me,
Hannah.

PS. i dislike kate hudson.

About the Butterflies

I love how when I opened this wonderful creation, "Unintended" started playing (that's the way life should always be). Anyway, as you may or may not know, this is a blog headed by three über talented and inspired artists. Here we want to share our inspirations, passions, and maybe just plain obsessions with you and update you on what we're onto at the moment. So let me introduce myself, I'm Hannah. I attend a college prep and am not an average teenager I guess, because I enjoy non-fiction, art history, different cultures, philosophy, fashion, performing, and music that challenges me to be a better person. For me, Amanda, and Morgan, our tightest bond is through music and the way we see life. It's a time for us to give our talents to others and be inspired by others and their talents. Music is at the front though. I can't really explain what it does or how it makes us want to be fabulous, and better people through music. We listen to every genre from Opera to Grunge, and we enjoy every minute of it. But there's one band ( if you can even call them that! Maybe trio of unbelievably talented charismatic gods?) in particular that hits every note the right way for us. Guess...just guess what it is. You've listening to them for the last couple of minutes, yea...MUSE. I won't go on about them for too long because I'm sure there are blogs to come about them. But this isn't a blog about them, (from time to time possibly) it's to experience what we love and share it with you. There will be blogs about places we love, things we've heard on the street, books we've read, new songs we've learned, things that inspire us and maybe even just a flat out rant, (probably about Kate Hudson. Come back to look for that post and I, as well as Amanda and Morgan will tell you why C:). So go relax, listen to "Soldier's Poem" a few hundred times and keep coming back to see what's new.
